We were a little disappointed that they staged the inside of the castle with remakes to make it look like what it would have looked like a long time ago. It gave it a really fake felling. It would be great for little kids, but we felt it took away from it.
Here is our favorite photo from the castle.
When we were leaving the castle and heading over to see the cliffs, I spotted a photo op that I just couldn't pass up. We put our camera on top of the car and set the timer. Did you know that Steven is a perfectionist? I think it took twenty or so attempts to get this shot.
So after spending 20 min to get one picture we made it to the cliffs. Steven parks in the first spot he sees. We get out and walk over to a map. Steven thinks we should move the car so we don't have to walk so far to get to where we want to be, and I think it is a good idea. So back in the car we go. Did I mention before that we were parked right on the edge of the cliff? That is important, because when Steven put his foot on the gas he was in drive, not reverse and we almost went flying off the edge of this cliff. It was a beautiful day so we had the windows down, giving everyone around us the opportunity to hear me scream bloody murder. There may have been some pointing and staring. Steven was mortified. And I was just happy to be alive.
After we successfully moved the car without dying we walked along the path a ways. We had a good view of the castle in the distance.
It was such a clear day you could see france across the English Channel.
Here is our favorite picture from our walk.
